Lilypop Restaurant is a family owned restaurant managed entirely by a young couple. This restaurant serves Khmer and Asian Fusion cuisine and is located slightly off the main city center. We arrived at 12:00 pm, checked out the menu and found that the prices were reasonably cheap compared to other restaurants. All items on the menu were below $4.
We ordered our food and waited for about 30 minutes before getting our first dish served. It was to be another 20 minutes before we got our last dish, which means a total of 50 minutes waiting time for our entire meal to be served. There is wifi at this restaurant which in a way helps to kill time while waiting for our food.
Despite the long wait, the food was simply delicious and had lots of flavors. I simply cannot get enough of their Egg Noodles. The Lok Lak and Amok are both yummy Cambodian dishes which is a must-try when you are in Cambodia. Our orders were as follows:
- Tom Yam Pork Fred Rice at $2
- Chicken Egg Noodles at $2
- Beef Lok Lak at $3
- Amok Chicken at $3
- A glass of fruit shake each at $1
We had wanted to try their Mango Sticky Rice but were told that they were not available which was a bit of a disappointment as it looks really good.
We would recommend this restaurant if you are not in a hurry. The owners are extremely friendly and do not mind engaging in a friendly conversation with their customers although they are extremely busy doing all the work themselves which includes cooking, serving and cleaning up.
Our rating for this restaurant is as follows:
