atNata Chiangmai Chic Jungle, Chiang Mai

atNata Chiangmai Chic Jungle is located at the foot of the hill in Mae Rim District, about 37km from the Chiang Mai International Airport. I chose this place as it is near Mon Cham where we were heading to on our first day in Chiang Mai.

We headed for atNata Chiangmai Chic Jungle Resort after visiting and having dinner at Mon Cham. By the time we arrived, it was slightly past 8 pm and the place was extremely quiet. Guests and staff were nowhere to be found. We had to wait about 15-20 mins before a staff finally came to the reception and attended to us. Checking in was a quick process since we have already paid for the hotel via Agoda. We were given the keys to Villa Story which accommodates 5 adults located near the reception area.

The Villa

Upon seeing the villa, we were very excited and equally delighted. One thing I truly love is the pebble-stone flooring used throughout the resort. Even the living room and bathroom has pebbled flooring. It does get cold during the cooler months but I still love it anyway as it gives me an outdoorsy feeling. A staircase in the villa leads to a loft where a king sized bed is placed on wooden flooring with a mosquito net hanging from the top. There is only one huge bathroom in the villa to be shared among the occupants which can be inconvenient as we need to take turns using it. Overall, I love the villa. However, the hot water shower needs to be improved. It was not hot enough to generate enough steam to fill a huge bathroom to keep us warm. And the water pressure needs to be increased as well.

Since our stay, atNata Chiangmai Chic Jungle has gone through some renovations. You can check out some of the pictures in their FB page below. Some of the changes include turning the loft into a room for more privacy with an attached bathroom.

The Resort

Other than the pebble-flooring used throughout, I also love the art decor and water features embedded into the resort. We went exploring early morning the next day and found a small river with a mini waterfall located at the back of the resort.

atNata Chiangmai Chic Jungle’s restaurant overlooks the river located at the back. Our booking includes breakfast and we were given a choice of either American or Oriental. It took the staff quite some time to prepare and serve our meals although we were the only ones there. I went for the American breakfast which I regretted later as the Oriental ones were much better. I had a taste of the rice soup (which I realized later was porridge) and I must say, it was the best rice soup I have ever tasted.

Review: atNata Chiangmai Chic Jungle

Improvements needed:
1. Hot water shower
2. Staff service which is a bit slow and non-present

Despite the above shortcomings, I will still recommend atNata Chiangmai Chic Jungle to all outdoor lovers.
